Mullvad leak test
Connect to Mullvad and run this Mullvad leak test to check that your real IP is hidden. The test checks your public IP, IPv6 and WebRTC addresses.
How to test Mullvad for leaks
- Disconnect Mullvad and run the test once.
- Connect to a Mullvad server and run it again.
- Your IP, provider and location should all change. Red means something leaks.
Mullvad DNS leak test
Mullvad sends DNS through its own servers while connected. A DNS leak usually means a custom DNS setting or a browser using its own secure DNS provider. Our DNS leak test is coming soon. See what a DNS leak is.
How to fix a Mullvad leak
- WebRTC leak: use the Mullvad app system-wide, or limit WebRTC in your browser.
- IPv6 leak: turn on In-tunnel IPv6 in Mullvad’s settings, or disable IPv6 on your device.
- Leaks when the VPN drops: Mullvad blocks traffic during reconnects by default. Also consider the “Lockdown mode” setting, which blocks traffic whenever Mullvad is disconnected.
- Split tunneling: check your browser is not excluded.
FAQ
Does Mullvad leak DNS?
Not when it works correctly. If a test shows otherwise, check custom DNS and your browser’s secure DNS setting.
Why does the provider show a different name?
Mullvad uses servers on several networks. What matters is that the IP is not your real one.
